Away For A Wedding

Tell you what, its COLD over there!! We arrived in the evening time and the chill was rolling down the hills! We were sleeping in the house my sister is living in, which is about five minute drive away from the house my parents are living in (in deep countryside, you pass one house as you drive!)(oh, and my parents own both houses), and this houses only source of heating is the fuel stove on the kitchen dining room, which you can only afford to light at evening time as firewood is at a premium as its too wet to gather any!! So you wear a lot of clothes, lol! And so long as you keep the doors closed inside is still warmer than outside!
The house is on a three quarter acre block, and has many fruit trees and several odd sheds, and a track for a driveway, a pond in the front, and a veggie patch down the side.

The days leading up to the wedding were slightly crazy. Miriam had given over the plans to her future mother inlaw, and so had no idea what was going on as far as anything bar her dress, my dress, and when she was to show up was conserned, and no one had any idea what was happening as no one was talking to anyone else, so, even though Mum was making the cake, she did not know when to drop it off, and two other ladies were decourating the Rotunda,(a hall in a caravan park they had hired for the occasion) they did not know when they were meeting each other, and as far as the rehersal was conserned - only four people showed up!!
The hens party was nice, except Mum didn't go as she didn't get an invitation, and the hostess didn't know Mum didn't get an invitation, so it was slightly awkward (though it was all sorted out later, and all hurt feelings were smoothed over) but other than this it was really nice.

We were all in fear and trembling lest it be cold and rainy at the bluff in Swan Reach, which was where the wedding wass to take place, but on the day it cleared up beautifylly and was actually quite hot! Every one showed up who was supposed to (plus a few who wern't, lol! It was a great surfing day!) and no one fell over each other!

After the wedding the happy couple went down to the beach to have some more photo's taken (I don't have any of these) and we all met up again at the Rotunda in Lakes Entrance for the reception.

We were going to leave the following day, but small complications arose as to whom would feed the two cats and the rabbit while the honeymooners were away, so Michael and I made arrangements for our own cats and stayed on an extra four days.
It was nice to have the house to ourselves, and I was able to get all the fruit trees cut back and ready for spring, and the garden dug and some veggies planted for them as an extra wedding present.
We left for home Thursday afternoon, and got home to a very rainy and soggy town, and a freezing cold house that smelt like cat (ick!!) but it was good to be home!
First thing Michael did was clean the laundry, toilet and side entrance for me to get rid of the cat wee smell while I emptied the car, and by the time it was dinnertime, the house smelt a helluva lot better, and everything was put away, yay!!
The next day I discovered my two girls were sick, so we have been playing it carefully, and there has been no outside time as it is cold and wet out there, and I have made my apologies already for not going to show up on Sunday as we do not want to share (lol).
Over all, though, a wonderful holiday, and a very satisfying time! No regrets, no thought of changing anything!
