So
many little things happen. I call it doing a lot of nothing, because it
is not exciting to most people. But there are some out there that fully
appreciate the little joys and excitements from living life at home!
My Borage is BIG! I have never even seen the stuff before, but I saw the seeds in the herb section of ebay, and thought, 'why not?' Now It is grown BIG! And the flowers are almost out, and I've had to transplant my thyme as the poor stuff almost got smothered!! The thyme is now in a pot under the peach tree amongst the furry mint while I try to think of a better place to put it, lol!
Worst thing about living in town is that you have limited space to use. I shouldn't complain, we have quite a large block all things considered, but I still find it small sometimes :S
Two more mice dead. I am actually sad and feeling wracked with guilt! I moved the poor wee things to the other corner of the lounge as their smell was creeping into our bedroom. But they were right infront of a window that doesn't close properly, and I think I froze them to death!!!! The last mouse (Dexter) is still there, but he is in a better cage than the others were, and I have a towel folded in half and placed between him and the window for extra protection. He is very happy. And fat. lol!
We have also changed from kitty litter to dirt from the garden to line the cage with. Believe me, it smells SO much better!!!
I mowed the lawn a couple of days ago, and the ground is starting to firm up. Its SO good! I think we may no longer have a quagmire in the back yard, YAY!
Some of the Silverbeet has been transfered to the shade garden up beside the house to make space for me Eggplant and Capsicum seedlings. I have grown Silverbeet up there before and it has been quite happy, even if it gets very little sun. I will be putting more up there as more seedlings are ready.
I am putting Capsicum and Eggplants together this year, and I will do Chilli and Cucumber as soon as I have Cucumber. I am exploring companion planting, and will let you know how it goes :)
The children have managed about a test a week this term, which I am very happy about. I love Malachi and Hadassah's relief as they hand the final piece of paper over with the knowledge they are about to go outside and play for the rest of the day, LOL!
Gaspode is now in his new home, and we are all very happy. We were so relieved to find a home for him that wanted him, and his rego and micro chip number have been changed over, so if he runs away (again) he is THEIR problem!! Spud is not terribly worried about being an 'only dog', so long as we do not leave him for too long. There is still some small conscern over leaving him whilst we go on holidays, but with the trampoline (bouncy bouncy, as the children call it, lol) is moved away from the fence it should be okay.... I hope...
Eli is happily babbling his baby talk (almost all the time, he is a big chatterbox!!) but there are words in there, like Mamma, Daddy, thankyou, and so one. Its soooo cuuute!!!
Been experimenting with different vegetable mixes to make pasta sauce so I don't have the veggies I simply do not have room for going to waste! I have made two mixes so far. One was cabbage, silverbeet, two tins over wine infused tomatoes, and four chicken stock cubes all reduced down and bottled. Didn't tate too bad really, though very green, lol! The second one was lettuce, fennel, kolrabi and a tin of wine infuced tomato with four vegetable stock cubes, and this one actually tasted better than the last one! Amazing! Also it saves me about $10 a fortnight doing this as we like pasta, but the sauce isn't cheap!
Went and Visited Elein and Kathleen yesterday with Phebe and Eli and left Malachi and Hadassah home with Daddy (as they had 'Ninja school' that evening and I didn't think they needed two outings) and we had a very nice time! Elein and I went over the Sunday School lesson whilst the children played, and I was thoroughly relaxed :D
Oh! I have two lessons to prepare this week, this Sundays and Next Sundays. Because we are away a week there will be no time to prepare it then, so I have to pull my finger out and be organized :O
I have been doing the girls hair up in french plaits lately. Their hair is so fly away, and this seems to keep it all semi respectable, lol! I just wish my fingers would stop getting in the way while I did it!!
Oh yeah, a passing though. I am going to trial having cloths instead of paper towels and wipes. I have plenty of cloths, and the used wipes can be tossed into a bucket to be cleaned with the rest of the washing. I am going to roll the cloths onto the despenser in the place of paper towels, so you should be able to grap a cloth just as easy as a paper towel, and the nappy wipe despenser I will just fill with hankys and small cloths with some pink baby lotion on stand by. I hope it works out, as this will save a little money, too! We shall see....
Okay, gotto get a wiggle on, there is washing awaiting! Bye all :)

Hi Mrs Yub
ReplyDelete"So many little things happen. I call it doing a lot of nothing".
The little things are 'life' and without them we wouldn't be living.
Enjoying your blog as usual.
I have put your blog on my Saturday 'Bump the Blog' feature...I hope you don't mind.
No! I do not mind, I am flattered that you included me, thankyou so much :D
DeleteYes, so many little things, you could fill books with them all, eh?
My hair is rather fly away too! But plaits don't hold well for me. And my girls, well... It is just the same. Only one wants me to "do" her hair and the other runs from the room. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I have that as well! Hadassah likes me to do her hair, and usually tells me how she wants it, and Phebe makes herself scarce, LOL!!
