Pottering Hither and Yon.

You ever notice that you seem to get boney is some places and stay the same in others? My wrists and ankles are boney at the moment (hard knocks to prove it, lol!) but aside from my tummy flattening, I do not see much of a difference any where else! Lol, yeah, I know its random, but I just knocked my wrist and the pain is causing me to ponder the way our bodies seem to work!
Michael has had his third weigh and measure, and his weight (according to our scales that are faulty) he still hasn't lost any weight, and his actual size is still fluctuating. It is going to be so disappointing if he doesn't actually loose any weight. And at 140k's, he really needs to, for his health. Well, maybe I am worrying over nothing. It is only three weeks into his diet after all.
This Paleo diet has proved to be a learning experience, though. He isn't doing the full monty. Basically he has cut out the soy, the flour (bread bikkies, cakes and muffins and what not), cereal and grains, and potatoes. So far the up side has been he is much less flatulant, and looks healthier and firmer. But beyond that, we-ell. What we really want to see is shrinkage!!
I ran out of schoolwork (PACE's) for Hadassah unexpectedly last week, so I have been attempting to keep her going by getting her to review her alphabet and her syllables and pronunciation till her new stuff arrives, but the main problem is, she is so severly disinterested in it, I might as well go searching for hens teeth!! I need her to focus on writing neater, and more concisely, and bar standing over her like a task master and making her do it, (which I do not have time for due to the fact that, well, she is not an only child!) I just cannot think of a way to make her want to do it. Even the penpal she has recently started writing to (Raven's younger daughter, they really hit it off when we met up, let me tell you!) doesn't encourage her to focus and try to do better. Oh well! I am sure she will pick up with patience. I mean, she is improving in other areas (looking after her hair, keeeping her room and wardrobe a little tidier, looking after her younger siblings) so I'm sure this area will get better, too :)
Ha! My snow peas are fruiting! And the children (except for Malachi, who is still a fussy beggar) are into them with a vengance!

I am quite pleased about this, as I love seeing them snack straight from the garden, lol! Now if only they'd eat the radishes the same way, LOL!!
Oh my word, I have to mention! The other day all the children were off the chain! I mean, there was serious unrest happening, so I sent them all on a time out in their beds, and a little while later they were siisterly quiet, so I went and had a stickybeek, and this is what I found

I sorta left them be, lol!
We finally made it back to Golden Beach to pick up the stuff we colleted from hard waste, and brought it home. We were delayed by a fortnight due to a petrol shortage caused by lack of money >.<  The  main thing I was looking forward to coming home was this gaming table.
Michael put new legs on it, has braced it six ways from Sunday, and it is ready to play on as soon as the verander roof goes up! (there isn't really enough room to play it inside :o )
Speaking of the verander, all that needs to happen to it now is the painting and then the roof goes up - YAY!
On a sadder note, my Uncle passed away last week. It was both sad and happy. Sad because he is gone now, but happy because he is exactly where he wants to be, safe in the arms of Jesus,  and there is no more pain.

My brother, Tim, went up to the funeral on behalf of us all. Its about a 12 hour drive or so (?) He got back on his birthday, and his girlfriend, Cassie, (who is in America) had asked for the little girls to make a card for him from her, because her card had been unable to be sent, and we were happy to oblige. I haven't heard anything more about the funeral or how anyone is yet. I shall find out when we visit them this weekend.
We are now in the process of getting ready to visit Mum and Dad with the dogs in tow, as I have stuff to give my sister, and the children really want to see the Aunties.

  1. Sorry to hear about your Uncle Mrs Yub. It was a shame you were so far away from the funeral.
