Let me see, where do I start? Well, I think the first exciting thing would be the official release of my sister's pregnant piccies!
Isn't she pretty? She recently had her hair cut, and I think it suits her, don't you? In the top piccie she is wearing one of my pregnant tops, and the bow on the front is just darling!! And the middle picture she made that skirt herself :D
Next thing was the arrival of my very first side board! I have been waiting over ten years to own one, and my friend at church wanted to get rid of hers as she is redecorating, and I got it! Yay!!
The Dogs are behaving themselves as well as you could expect a couple of old Jack Russels to behave. I am happy to say that for the most part the peeing inside has stopped, however there is still the odd mess. Also they are not treating the cats any better, but the cats have adapted okay, so I am not worried.
Actually I am quite pleased with them because the other day they were barking in the back yard, and I went out to see what was up because it was on of thise barks that usually indicates they have found something that they like very much but its not supposed to be where they found it, like a cat or something?ANYWAY, they had found a blue tongue!
We ended up locking the dogs up for long enough for the bluey to escape. And the reason I am happy is because I reckon they would do this if they found a snake as well. I would rather know a snake was in my yard as not, you know?
We went to a Haloween Festival in Moe Sunday arvo, and we all got dressed up.It was held in Old Gippstown and quite a number of people were there in many interesting costumes, but I must say, the favourite was zombies.
Malach was a zombie, Hadassah was a white tiger, Phebe was a mummy, and Eli was an Amish baby. I would have taken more photo's but the camera went on the blink, so thins was all I got. We stayed long enough to explore the park, goggle te costumes, eat a bag of free popcorn each, and get very hot, lol!
I had to get out into the veggie patch and do some weeding around the beds, because the grass is seeding, and I do NOT want it to drop its seeds in with the veggies!
As you can see, I managed to finish the job with my scissors. That bale of Sweet Pea mulch I bought the other day didn't go as far as I was hoping either, and I fear I am going to have to buy a number more before I cover all of the patch. I am going to have to try to buy them, though, as it is very hot here at the moment. About 28 degrees, which is really warm for Spring, and everything is drying out! I took a photo of my pile of grass that I cut:
You can see its rather large, eh?
I also packeted the broccoli seeds I had dried, and have now got some Kale seeds drying there:
I have other seeding plants ripening, bit fortunatly they are not ready to be picked yet.
Also my onions are looking great! I did a pintrest search an when to pick them and how to store them, and I came up with two helpful sites, http://www.garden.org/foodguide/browse/veggie/onions_care/493, and http://chiotsrun.com/2012/06/21/storing-homegrown-onions/. I hope it all goes okay. I have never done onions before and I am aprehensive and excited too!
I cut both Phebe and Eli's hair yesterday, Eli because he needed it (and I'm VERY sad! He is now officially a little boy, and not a bay :( ) and Phebe because she was getting EVERYTHING in her hair and then giving me hell over brushing it.
Hohum. I still need to water the garden and bring my clothes in. I hope everyone is well (especially those being threatened by Hurricane Sandy!

Hi Mrs Yub, your garden looks fab. I love your sideboard...what a find!
ReplyDeleteSnakes in the garden?.....I remember why I like the UK now lol...I don't think I'd ever go in my garden again if I saw a snake out there!
Hahaha! Yes, I have a severe snake phobia, too! But I have never actually seen one in the yard!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of my kitchen? Remember I wanted to show you piccies of it? I will post up again because we just got our very first chest freezer (we have been paying it off all year) and so the room looks a little different again.
