You cannot see the lawn for he leaves, almost!
We were very fortunate that a friend from church who happens to own a chainsaw was able to come out and help us with the last of the gum trees that needed to be topped, because Michael and I attacked another tree (so that was two and a half in total we did ourselves with the hatchet and the hand saw) and my hands were wrecked, and I have bruises on me legs!
Here is the site that meets my eyes when I go out the back at the moment.
And, just for laughs, here is our greenwaste bin:
I am not really complaining. Slightly overwhelmed, but not unhappy, as the trees were getting WAY tall, and since our seasons are so extreme I was concerned about what they'd do as they got taller! So now all we gotto do is find a way to get rid of all the leaves, lol!
I mentioned in an earlier blog that Malachi and Hadassah were finger knitting. Well, they have finished their balls of wool, and this is what they have made:
Aren't they clever? Hadassah knitted her's three times over to get this collar, and Malachi did his four times. They have started on fresh balls, and I have a few ideas as to what they might be able to make... Just before I go, Phebe has three birds now. With help she gives them fresh water and food whenever they need it, and she often talks to them.
BIG thumbs up for Phebe :)
Wow it makes a lot of difference now the gum trees have been cut down doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteFinger knitting, I had forgotten about this. My daughters used to spend hours doing it....they aren't interested in knitting at all now they are teenagers though, perhaps they will be when they are older.
Yes, we have a lot more sky in our back yard now, LOL!!
DeleteFinger knitting is cool! The challenge is continuing to find things to do with it that the children will like!
I feel the same way about fingerknitting. I can never decide what they could make!
