Bed Building and Ratty things

The rain won't go away! I am not really complaining... well yes, I am, because I want my chook pen and house built, and I have to mow the lawn, and weed the garden, and I want to start walking again so I can build myself up to visiting Martha again... but I shouldn't complain! It'd be worse if it was dry!
Besides, the children aren't letting it stop them!

Now, I COULD complain that my lawn is now all flat and muddy, but I'm not going to do that :P
Michael has been working hard to remake the girls room beds. Before, Hadassah was on the top bunk and Phebe was on the bottom, but the bunks themselves are about a foot and a half shorter than a normal bed, and we were finding that Hadassah was having a hard time fitting on hers with all her toys. So what Michael is doing is he has dismantled the bottom bunk, and is building a full size bed for Hadassah, and we are moving Phebe to the top bunk.

As you can see, we were running low on wood, but we had this old door under the house, so he is using that :)
There is a little bit of space between the side of the bottom bed and the end of top bunks legs, so we are putting a little desk in their, so now all four children will have their own school desks! Yay!!
And while I am thinking of it, here is a shot of Malachi's room, which is finished, and waitind for a coat of paint :)

Speaking of school work, Hadassah has been doing much better. Before I would struggle to get five pages out of her, but now she is managing to give me ten pages before lunch!

Yes, they are the same photo, but I wanted her to give me a nice face...
So I dunno if I mentioned it, but our little brown rat, Debbie, died. We were going to get another little girl rat, but the pet shop didn't have any. They did have boys, but we didn't want a boy. However, the Pet shop lady said if we got a boy and bred Miss Splinter to him the Pet Shop would buy the babies off Malachi, so that is what we have done!
I must be doing something right, because my guys are always really tired after dinner at night! I shall leave you with a shot of my tired little Phebe scratching old Fred.

  1. Hi Mrs Yub, your husband is amazing...he is so talented! He could sell beds like that as they are so good!

    1. LOL!! The hilarious thing is, if he sold it, regardless of how much he got for it, what would be foremost on his mind would be having to make anther one for the boys! lol!!

  2. I just love all the pictures! Your backyard looks great! That bunk bed is going to be wonderful. Isn't it interesting how many toys the kids will try to stuff into bed - sometimes not enough room left for the kid! Hadassah must be the clown of the family ;) My youngest liked to make faces at the camera also! Thanks for sharing your life with me!

They are all clowns, truth be told, lol! But Hadassah has an 'eye thing' that she loves to deal out, makes Eli laugh, hehehe!
