We looked at clothes avoided the toys, and Phebe's highlight had to be seeing the face paint lady and having a butterfly garden painted on her face.
Naturally when we got home the others (especially Hadassah) were quite jealous, but this didn't spoil Phebe's happiness.
I had discovered earlier that Eli has completley grown out of his size one clothes, so this called for a sorting of his clothes, and I did Malachi's and the girls while I was at it (BIG job, had to buy another 150 litre plastic chest for clothes storage!) While I had clothes everywhere Eli decided to have a rummage, and I discovered him in his brothers now-to-small bommers jacket!
A wee bit big for him, so I had to retrieve it (I have to confess, there was screaming involved, but I got over it!) but he looked so cute in it!
Daddy bought everyone Harry Potter glasses from the $2 shop in Traralgon when he went there to buy particulars, but by the time I got the camera only Hadassah's was whole!
She actually fell asleep with them on!
Michael and I decided to take the children camping Thursday, even though it was rather a funny day. You know, the sort where it rains for five minutes, then its sunny for half an hour? Yeah, well, we figured we'd live, so off we went!
We went to Primrose Park in Boolara, and set up shop around five pm, or so. This is Michael cooking dinner. This is our camp configuration. Not near the water or tree's. Ju-ust in case!
I swear, those trees were taller than that hill behind them! They were HUGE!!
This is the inside of the tent. It did rain quite a bit, including a down poor that happened to happen as Michael was off to the creek to get a bucket of water of all times, but the tents remained pretty dry, which was good!
The children were happy. A Thunder storm passed right over the top of us, and aside from their squeals of delighted terror when the thunder rolled and the lightening crashed, they were unphased.
This is the next morning, and you can see a watery sunshow starting.
Master Eli, happily running around.
This tree was one of the first we passed when we drove into the clearing.
The older two were very happy they could climb it no worries, though Phebe was less impressed.
But Eli was unperturbed, there was plenty of other things he could get into!
We had promised the children would get to do some fishing while we were there, and this was truly VERY exciting.
We had bought some cheap and nasty fishing rods and nets a little while ago, so were prepared, though there was consern that these would be broken before we got near the water through sheer enthusiasm!
I had discovered a conveniant track down to the water earlier on, so Daddy and the older children trouped down there while I kept Eli back at camp.
Aside from having to untangle the fishing lines, and occasionally the children, all Daddy had to do was sit!
This is a shot of me taking the children for a walk around the clearing as Michael packed up the car. We discovered that either the clearing wasn't big enough or Michael was packing really slow. Either way it was a while before we left.
Here is the sign proving we were there! This is also the third shot as it proved rather difficult to get all the children looking at the camera at the same time!!
We had lunch at the Boolara Park, and the children made a beeline straight for the playground! After we managed to pry them off it we had a lovely lunch of sandwiches, before heading home for hot baths!
Okay. I'm not brave enough for tent camping. I probably would be so stiff the next day that I couldn't move, but I'm ready to get the camper in working order.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty stiff, but it was fun. You can't replace the camping experience with anything but camping! lol, admittedly you need a few days afterwards to recover, but still..
