Catch up

WFI have been having an ongoing discussion with the new IPad my husband bought me, as to whether I should be able to upload my own photos onto my own blog or not. I think I should be able to do so, and it reckons I shouldn't. So far it has been winning. But. Hence no blog for so long. But in a fit of desperation I gave it to Michael, who couldn't find it either! But he googled the issue on his laptop and we discovered that the privacy setting change the IPad kept referring to was not in fact bloggers, like it seemed to be saying, but rather in the IPad itself, which I think was not clearly stated at all!! Anyway, issue resolved.
So here I am playing catch up!
My time has been spent experimenting wig my sourdough starter. These biscuits are chewy butter biscuits, and I substituted half the SR flour for sour dough, but then discovered that th mixture was too runny, so I added more SR flour, and this is what I ended up with!
They are almost all gone now...the children descended upon them like flies, lol, they must be good!

So the next thing I have to mention is a got a lovely visit from my sister and her family. They came down for a couple of nights for a break from their lives, and I am so glad they did! I would have them anytime!

I still haven't worked out the finer art of writing around the photos...hmmm, well, these photos are fairlY self explanatory. I will mention, though, that we celebrated Zavi's birthday while they were here. She is the girl in the hat the second photo up. I did not get any good photos of the event, but we turned the light out and she blew the candles out and we snag happy birthday, and we all got to watch the new Lego Movie!
About a fortnight ago now I bought these two boxes of olives from Mannies Market for $2 each.

I have had them sitting in a nappy bucket full of wart, each one pricked with a fork, and have been changing the water every day to draw some of the bitterness out of them, but soon, I will be moving onto the next step, which I believe involves salty wate, but I shall have to check...
Some painting has been done in our poor raggedy kitchen. It is an ongoing process, as it is terrible drying weather, but I am very happy with it. I was worried that the dark colour would make he little room smaller, but the brown draws the eye up our nine foot high ceilings, and while it doesn't make the room feel bigger, in a weird way it feels roomier.

This was done suddenly one day last week. I finally sewed Velcro on all my none paper towels, so it could roll em onto the paper towel roll for ease of use. It's great, as now we can grab one towel without them all falling off!

Also, while on the sewing theme, I have whipped up two PJ's for Malachi, and two for Hadassah's (one not shown, I could get a photo of it at the time as it was too dark and this thing doesn't have a flash, and then, well, I forgot!) and the bottom one is me modelling a new top.

New baby piggies have been born, but they are so quick! I haven't been able to get a good shot of then., they seem to not like the camera!

And here is something Michael was working his guts out over! We have two rabbits,  and as I have mentioned they were being kept inside. This turned out to be a bad idea as they kept spraying (I'm assuming because of out wee little dog) but the smell and the mess was unbearable! So they needed to. Go outside! But the cage did not look big enough for them to comfortable in, so Michael made it bigger!

It took him four days and a lot of wrestling with recycled materials, but here is the final result!

Happy George. And Fiona Fluffybottom!

Due to the awful drying weather we've had recently this is what the back veranda has been looking like, plus inside over the fireplace is full too! But on the plus side I have had a willing helper when it comes to folding! We'll sort of...

I acquired a large cage from our dump shop recently (for. $15!) with the idea in mind originally that it would help with the rabbit cage...well obviously it wasn't required, bit it now holds our budgies, who. Think it is too big, but I think they will get used to it...
This is what our lounge room looks like at the moment.

And above is what it looks like at night...
I'm going to leave you with a photo of someone who loves to try to help me with the typing of my IPad.
