Visit to the Snow!

I my sister and I organised for our families to visit the snow together this year! Including Miriam, Ryan and Ebony, they also brought Ryan's other daughter Xavi, and another of my sisters, Keziah. In our car we brought Tomuto, our African friend. If there were more spare seats we would have brought her brothers as well, but alas, there was not enough room.
It was a fantastic time! We went to Mount Baw Baw.
The road up was windy and narrow, and most of it was dirt, but still beautiful!
As we gig into the snow we passed car parks with cars in them that were covered in snow. The children were fascinated!
It was fortunate we left at 7:30 am because it took over two hours to get to our destination, and the car part was already full!
The last part of the journey we had to put chains on the car off, which was also exciting because Michael hadn't done it before. But no worries! Everything went on smoothly.

Once we got to the top, a couple of blokes showed us where to park, and we were happy to get out of the car into the fresh, cold air and stretch out!

Our first stop was the toboggan slope. There were only two to oggans to share, bug every one was happy to wait their turn and share.

After tobogganing everyone was hungry so we had an early lunch.
It was a picnic lunch. Miriam and I each packed enough to share, so we had plenty of food! We are at the cars, because it was the warmest place!

Now that everyone was satisfied, we wanted to explore a bit, so off down the Baw Baw trail we went, into the village.

We only got as far as the first ski slopes when the children started getting stroppy, so we headed back to the cars, but we hadn't even explored a third of what Baw Baw had to offer!
Once back at the cars, everyone changed into dry clothes and huddled down under blankets with snacks and drinks and snoozed while Ryan, Miriam, and Michael headed back to the toboggan slope for one last go!
On the drive back down again, our brake pads over heated! That's right! We had to stop at the bottom of the first slope (using the hand brake as the foot breaks were not working) and wait half an hour or so while our brakes cooled off!
After this we said our good byes and Miriam and her car went in one direction, while we went in another. Michael had discovered that going in the opposite direction to the nod we had come would keep us on a sealed road, and not add much time to our travels. Ryan decided to go the same way they had come as the way we were going was in the opposite direction to the way he wanted to go!
The road we had selected was easier to drive but, but I reckon it was longer, because even though it was sealed, and we could go faster, it was so twisty and turny that we didn't gain any time!
We dropped Tomuto off at her house first, and she was bursting with stories (mainly about how cold it was!) and then we went home ourselves.
Needless to say we had an early night, but everyone was happy.
