I swear! This is what I tell myself everytime I sit down, but before I even tounch the keyboard something calls me away! Now Facebook is different. Facebook only takes a couple of seconds to look at, like this, post that, and your done! So anyone looking at my Facebook activity and telling me I spend plenty of time on the computer to blog must not be fooled!
The last thing I mentioned in my last blog was that we were going back to Mum and Dad's to get the stuff that wouldn't fit in our car. Well we did that, only stayed a couple of nights. Long enough to watch the tank refill the watertank (which was empty :P),
and then we drove home again. Nuff said? lol!
Since then, I have been lamenting the dryness of everything! Despite the fact that we are now keeping a bucket in the kitchen sink to reuse that water as well as the washing machine and bath/shower water, everything is parched! There are cracks in the back yard! Its crazy!
And I have been keeping a close eye on the CFA, http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/, because not that long ago we were swathed in smoke, and that arose all sorts of conserns! But right now there is nothing near us. The Good Lord is gracious!
Schoolwork has kicked in again, and the children have not forgotten nearly as much as I was afraid they would. It is thanks to their penpals, I reckon! Phebe, too, has started 'schoolwork', and she loves to sit down and do it while the others are doing their PACE's :)
Speaking of Phebe. My poor small girl decided to take a header into the wooden arm rest of out lounge chair! She was being naughty by playing a jump and dive game I had forbidden while I was out of the room. Now she knows why I forbad it!! Michael and I were very conserned about the size of the egg on her forhead, so after we gave her some painkiller I drove her off to the emergency room at the hospital. The doctor and nurse who saw us were very nice, and I was told we did all the right things, and that Phebe would have a sore head for a few days, but she would be fine. No concussion. No dozyness. All good.
We are still living soley off the veges from our garden, and I am pleased as punch. It shows that all the extra work has been worth it.
(Just had to put that in. Forgive my bragging)
And I have a new piece of furniture in my kitchen! A friend gave me a plate rack that is simply darling!
Some very dear friends of ours came and visited us over night a couple of days ago. I haven't seen Aunty Gail and Uncle Allen for a few years, and I must say they have hardly changed a bit! Its such a pleasure to see them!
The latest big thing is that the tent, after a year of waiting, is finally up again!! Woot! The children will sleep in it tonight (except for Eli). They are so excited! I shall post photo's later :D
Also, tomorrow we are going to visit Uncle Neil's farm, so its double excitement! They probably won't sleep!!
I'm so glad to see the cabinet went to good use! Did Michael happen to grab our Jerry can when he got that stuff? Just curious as we were looking everywhere for it to no avail. How is the gym set going? I hope Michael has put it to use! And how is the paleo diet going? We are now able to do it again since getting our own house. It's fantastic to call something home. I've actually turned into a little homemaker. Either that or the nesting has commenced lol. Still have stuff to unpack but the less we have here the better. I figure if we don't use it in the next few months we can sell the stuff in a garage sale! 20 week scan tomorrow. Can't wait to see Pauls face. Talk soon, thanks for your blog link xx
ReplyDeleteI did not see a jerry can as I was putting stuff away, sorry mate :(
DeleteThe gym is all set up and happy, and Michael has even used it a coupl of times!
The paleo diet has settled into our routine. Michael has his own cereal, his own bread, has replaced potatoes with sweet potatoes, and pasta with zucchini, and everything else has stayed the same :)
I am so glad you guys are settling in, and I'm glad you are feeling better! I must say Paul was looking healthy when I saw him so you are definitley doing something right, lol!
Good luck on the 20 week scan! Can't wait to see piccies!
What fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of fun :D
DeleteI love the plate rack Mrs Yub! It is a bit worrying that the smoke came so close to you. I really hope the hot/dry weather stops for you soon.
ReplyDeleteThe smoke went away, then it came back, then it went away, and right now we are clear, but I keep a VERY close eye on the CFA website! Did you check it out?
DeleteI looked it up and found the whole thing quite scary. I don't envy you.
