Hot days and Christmas Decorations

Right now it is cold. There is a wind that feels as if its blowing straight off the snow! Brrrr! But late last week it was in the low thirties! The children were all complaining about being hot so I gave them iceblocks and sent them outside under the trees where it was cool. They looked so peaceful and quiet down there that I just HAD to get a photo!

We have finally gotten organized with our decorations! It took us a little while, but I am not unhappy with the results!

Lovely, lovely lights :D
Also we are finally on top of all the cards and the presents!
The cards were sent ou yesterday when we went out to the petshop to sell Malachi's baby rats (who are no longer babies as Miss Splinter has had another litter of nine babies!)
Mr Malachi made a profit of $28 and he spent most of it on Christmas presents for his brothers, sisters, Aunties and Uncles, and a birthday present for Hadassah.
Also we had our first Christmas dinner with friends from church (no photo's, forgot the camera). We went out to co-conspirator in Sunday School's house and had a lovely time of dinner and fellowship.
Dinner was a mishmash of whatever we had had handy (I brought a stew with noodles, she had some baked sweet potato, pork, and salad) and afterwards we sat and talked and digested our food.
Just before we left we opened presents. The children were very sad to leave, and there was a bit of a fuss, but we got home safely. Fortunately it wasn't raining on the way home in the almost dark. It was raining so hard on the way there that I could hardly see the road and we were crawling along at only 40 kilometres an hour in a few places!

  1. Your Christmas decorations are lovely! Congratulations to Mr. Malachi for raising his first crop of rats and making a profit! With nine more babies, it sounds like he is going to be rolling in money soon!

    1. Hahaha!! In his mind he is, LOL!! I dunno, though. The problem I have with the wee baby rats is that they are so small we cannot clean the cage for the first three weeks of their life or they will fall through the bottom of the cracks whilst Mumma is remaking her nest :/ and the jolly thing stinks!! But yes, we shall see.
I love the decorations, too ;) The children are going to be caming out in the loungeroom soon all night sos to bask in them :)
