Michael and I had planned to go to this show a month ago, but it went a bit wobbly because our car broke again, and we needed to spend $400 fixing it, so the money we saved for the show went on the car, grr grr grrrr! But we took out a Centerlink loan, and things worked out fine.
We got there about 5pm, and the first thing we did was make a bee line to the ticket booths! I wasn't riding any, but Malachi, Hadassah and Michael all went on the Hurricane.
Michael admitted his legs were wobbly, but there were smiles all around, and Malachi was so high on adrenaline they could almost have powered the site off him!
Next the three younger children went on the TeaCups and Eli and Phebe were radient!
Next we all hopped back to the car park because we had arranged to meet up with some friends at church there at 5:30pm, and we hung around for half an hour, but they didn't appear. No worries there! There was a park that the children could play on with slides and swings and jungle gyms and sandpits and what not, so it was just fine.
Before we headed back to the show they were giving free train rides (pulled by a tractor) around the green, so every one jumped on (but me, I guarded the pram and had a rest!).
Eli, Phebe and I lined up for the Spinning Swings when we got back to the park, which the younger two just loved!
And Daddy lined up with Malachi an Hadassah for the ChaCha!
It was about this time that our friends found us. Phebe was just delighted (so was I)
Our next stop was the inflatable slide, so off we piled!
Now we were all absolutely STARVING, so our friends headed off to see the sights, (they had already eaten) and we went towards the foooooodd!!
After a meal of hamburgers, chips, icecream, donuts and coffee, and feeling a lot better (funny how activities make you hungry, heh heh heh!) we wandered down to the other stalls, and finally came away with some inflatable toys (an alien, two dogs and a snake) some flashy glowing things (a wand, two tiara's and some glowsticks), we made our way to the bonfire.
And then came the wait for the fireworks....
We waited, maybe half an hour or so for the first bang? But it was so worth it!
It was a mad house trying to get home after that, but we just drove reeeeaaaalllyyy slowly!
All the children were asleep by the time we got home, and I had no choice but to load my dirty children into their beds :/
But I am SO glad we went!
It looks like a fun time was had by all! I am so glad you got to go! The bonfire and fireworks were a perfect ending to a great day! Thank you for sharing your story!
