Before we left for Naths house I discovered to my disgust that the side door to our house was not only only unusable, but also unfixable. This was not happy news as Miriam and Ryan were coming to stay a week and they now had no access the the car port from the house, only by going out the back door and walking around. I duly informed her of this and Miriam said no worries, and hey! I can get you a door! How about I give it to you for a birthday present?
To which I say yay! No worries! Ta muchly!
Now the new side door is hung and looking happy. We have had to make a new cat door, however, as the glass goes all the way to the bottom of the door, thus preventing us putting the cat flap in it, back in it it, but Micchael has it covered.
Doesn't it look nice? As you can see we are putting the new can door in the wall beside the door there, but Michael is having to do a bit more than he expected to a the whole area was hollow.
One of the things that Michael and I will sometimes do if we both need to go out is Michael will take two children and go off (usually in the car) and I will take Eli in the pram and another child and walk. On an occasion such as this Malachi and Phebe had an unexpected trea!
Michael had need of something at Bunnings, and I needed to go to MidValley, so I packed up Eli and Hadassah and trotted off with the pram and Michael took Phebe and Malachi and drove down to Bunnings.
When they got there There was this chap doing magic tricks! So while Michael went and got the things he needed Malachi and Phebe were entertained by disappearing and reappearing coins, rabbits and cards!
I had a sudden urge to go to the beach during the heat wave, but it wasn't practical to go then as we would have all been extreemly well done by the some within a few minutes. But the week after we all drove up to my sisters place at Metung.
It was the perfect day! The sun was shining, but it wasn't too hot, and everyone was in a good mood.
Ebony had a new toy. This table thing which had its own balls and played music. Eli liked this very much.
Malachi with their new fish in the background,
After a delightful lunch we went down to the beach!
Its such a nice place, and is shallow for ages!
The first thing the children did was wade out to this huge tree trunk.
Eli was happy to trot along the beach collecting this and that while the older children played in the water,
Miriam and Ryan had brought their kayak’s, and the children were really excited about this when they realized they would get to go one them!
And then they got to do it themselves!
We finally managed to coax Eli into the water
Here are all three children on one kayak!
Daddy wading with his little boy,
and then Mummy,
The waves were made by a speedboat that just zoomed past,
Eli was coaxed into the kayak, too, and he decided that it was a piece of alright!
I got to hold Ebony while Miriam took Eli around.
And then Daddy took him when Miriam got tired.
Malachi was perfectly happy paddling himself around
but when the offer of snorkelling arose, Hadassah and Phebe jumped on it!
It was about two hours before we all started to get tired.
We decided to stay for dinner, since there was not going to be enough dollars to buy dinner, and I knew Michael would kick up a stink about cooking, and then afterwards Miriam and and I went on another walk with their dog, Sol.
However, by the time we got back again it was eight o’Clock in the evening, and then the offer was put forward of us staying the night, which we were very thankful to do!
In the end, after brief ablutions, Malachi slept on the lounge room floor on the lounge chair cushions, while Phebe and Hadassah slept on the chairs, Michael slept out on the veranda on another lounge chair, and Eli and I slept on a mattress on the floor in one of the bedrooms,
We left after breakfast and another walk the next morning as Michael had to take his medication, but over all, it was a lovely, relaxed visit!
I love kayaks! My husband and I got ourselves kayaks last year and we have really enjoyed them. It looks like your visit with your sis was wonderful - how nice!
