01 Jun 2011 Me, YUB

I got up this morning with a groan, thinking, I do not want to get up! I have spent all night doing a jack in the box imitation, first for Phebe, who was coughing and then crying for me (how could I not go?), and the rest of the time for Eli, who had a serious repeat case of staverization, and one case of lack of breathing due to lying on his back and choking on up chuck. This small boy is either going to be the death of himself or me, who ever goes first!! SO! I do not want to get up. But the clock says 7:30am, and there is a busy day ahead, so up I get.
Into the work I jump with a zeal I can but fake, and cheerfulness that is like a mask, as I actually feel rotten, and cannot figure out why, but this is unimportant, as my cleaning lady is coming, and I must be ready!
Pull all the blinds, pull aside all the curtains, and pretend I do not see thick condensation on every window that I just know is going to pool on the window sill, then back to my room to make the shamble that once was our bed, as getting in and out of it all night really does make it worse for wear. Finally, as breakfast isn't quite ready yet (care of my lovely husband) I go to the lounge room where all the washing is hanging, and fold the small amount that actually dried, putting the rest into a basket, and carrying it outside into the cool, sharp fresh air out the back yard, currently partially clouded in a thick morning mist, and hang it all on the damp clothes line, praying the sun will come out early enough to dry something.
Breaky time! And I sit down to cereal and a cup of coffee with Michael and Granny (who was staying the night to catch up), and wait for Elizabeth, the house cleaner to arrive.
When Elizabeth gets here I tell her that I do not want any vaccuuming done, but rather after she has cleaned the bathroom and laundry and toilet would she please clean out all the lower cupboards in the kitchen, to get rid of the old mouse poo so I can see if we are rid or the little mongrels.
With Elizabeth compliant and happily started I rush around madly to get myself, my baby and my two girls ready to jump in the car with Granny, which takes a little longer than I anticipate, and so am very flustered by the time I walk out the door, and forget completely Phebe's child care bag (which has spare clothes and a bottle in it - DOH!)
So we drop Phebe off at childcare first, and I shame facedly explain that I forgot her bag, but the lovely ladies there reassured me that all was well, and they had enough spare kit to see her through, pheeuuhhh!
We then drive off again in the direction of the next town, as the Rivers shop there is having a sale that Granny want to check out. We are just leaving our township when Eli starts up a muttering, signaling he's ready for a feed thank you very much please, and Granny asks if I want her to pull over so I can fix him, but I (silly me!) say oh no! Its alright! Its only another five minutes or so before we are there. He can wait! Har. Har.
The rest of the trip is spent with me leaning into the back seat trying to keep a dummy in an extreamly irate little boys mouth while Granny drives with a straight face into the township.
Finally we pull into the car park, and I with a green face, stagger out of the car, catch up the dratted child, and plonk back down in the seat I came from and popped the boob into his mouth, saying shame facedly to my mother-in-law, I think we probably should have stopped, you were right! This wonderful woman never said I told you so, but rather, I don't like the look of your face, I think you should drive from now on. I love her so much!
So, while I was feeding a now contentedly baby, Granny took Dassah to the loo, and when they got back Eli was finished, and much happier.
The pram was pulled out of the boot, and the small child was clicked in while the extra baggage that you always seem to have with small children was stuffed underneath, and we went into the shop.
After much dithering and fuss, Granny settled on a pair of shoes that were comfortable and didn't look half bad either, that were $20, but had come down from $90 (LOVE Rivers sales!!) and we vacated the shop. I then had a sudden need to go to the loo myself, so Granny kept the children while I ran over, and on completion of my toilet, I returned with the knowledge that I can now officially fall pregnant again, if I am not careful! Its not fair! This is the soonest I've ever started a cycle after a pregnancy - EVER! Now I know why I've been feeling so rotten!
Before we get back in the car I voted we pop into the pet supply shop, as I know they have horse gear in there, and I love to smell the leather, and remember past memories.
We do not stay in the shop long, as Hadassah has grabby fingers, and nothing was safe from her touch! She liked the fish, and the dog toys, and the bird cages, and the horse halters, and the rabbit hutches, and oh, everything really. I was happy to come out again, lol!
Our next stop was the Stockland shopping Center, which I drove to, and we even got a parents with prams car park, which was very convenient.
We high tailed it to Macca's as we were all a wee bit hungry by this stage, Granny had a coffee, I had a medium Mac meal, and Dassah had a small chease burger meal, and then Granny and I sat with as sleeping Eli while Dassah played on the playground for a bit.
Next we headed for the baby room in the center for an Eli change and feed, and the change room was really nice and smart, though the experience was marred somewhat by some white trash mothers who felt trhat gossiping was more important than baby care (or hygene fore that matter) so once again, we were happy to get out of there.
Next Granny had to pop into Aldi and then Coles for some groceries, which we stuffed into the pram to save carting a trolly around, and by the time we made it back to the car we were quite loaded down!
Home again, Home again, jiggedy jig! Both small children slept on the way home, and the first thing Granny and I did upon emptying the car was collapse int he lounge room with yet more cups of coffee and not move for about, oh, say half an hour? We were a wee bit tired.
When I finally get up I discover that Elizabeth has made my cupboards all higglty pigglty, the kitchen floor hadn't been mopped, and the laundry hadn't been done at all . . . couldn't cope with that at the moment, so I went outside to see what clothes were dry instead. Discover three quarters of the washing HAD dried, so I folded them up and put them away, then rehung the damp stuff inside, before finishing the work Elizabeth hadn't done (though I still haven't gotten to straightening my poor cupboards yet.
After baths and a quick dinner of savoury mince and mash, Michael dashed out to Bible Study, and I have just finished doing a fresh wave of washing, and its joined the other stuff in the lounge room, washing the dishes, and putting the children to bed after teeth cleaning an story time.
I briefly eyed off my mending pile, which is turning into the leaning tower of Pizza, before coming in here to pretend it isn't there, and tell you all about my day instead!
Feeling a wee bit tired, but I can't imagine why (har. har.) Going to watch some Serinity with Michael when he gets home, then I'm rolling into bed! Please dear Lord, do not let Eli wake up too much tonight!

lol, yesterday was supposed to be a quiet day for me, but with Elizabeth coming a day earlier than she usually does sorta threw me, 'cause I like to be here when she's doing her funky thing, as this way I know what she has and has not been able to do, and what happened yesterday evening doesn't happen, eg, discovering half of what I expected to be done is not done, and not knowing why!! But I am not complaining about Elizabeth herself. She is an old duck, and the fact that she comes and helps me out at all for the cost she is asking ($20 for two hours) is a huge blessing!
That and 'that time of the month', which I seem to have gotten out of the habit of experiencing, has unsettled me, so I was grumpy (ish) by the time I flopped in front of the computer!
Ooooh! The leather smell combined with the horse feed smell brought back many happy memories in a second! There is actually a riding school about 15 minutes away from us, and I want to go and find out prices to see if its possible to send Malachi and Hadassah, though I do not have my heart set on it, yet.
