I didn't get brekky till nearly 10am, as Michael took Eli from me at a quarter to seven to let me have a sleep, and didn't get his act into gear till ten to nine, when I awoke, so every ones breakfast was late, which meant schoolwork was late, and I was planning to make bikkies in the morning, too, but Eli had a belly ache and would not be put down, so bikkies were post poned, as was clothes washing and folding, and almost all general tidying.
Michael skipped outside after he had washed up the breakfast things to fill up next doors green waste bin. You see we lost a tree the day after I chopped down the big spikey wattle that shadowed my clothes line, so we had a whole heap of wood and no where to put it. Since next doors is still not sold, and we had an open invitation to use their bin, we took advantage of it, but it barely made a dint in the load, so Michael ducked over the other side and asked the elderly neighber there if we could use his bin too, to which he readily agreed, and that was filled up, but we still have some of the wattle and all the tree still in the yard, so Michael has called a friend at church to see if we can borrow their trailer to take the rest of the wood to the chippy.
By ther time lunch time came round at twelve thirty I had managed to put Eli into an uneasy sleep, fed the children, and syatred on the colothes while Michael made our lunch, and we were ready about the same time.
Just as I sat down Eli sarted to grumble again, so I ate lunch with misery guts on my lap.
The afternoon was a little better. The older children palyed quietly while Phebe slept and Eli sorta mucked around, but I finally got to the bikkies at 3.
Made two dozen chocolate chip bikkies, and a butter cake (with purple icing), and then Daddy took Hadassah to Grannies for a sleep over, with the other two in tow to visit Granny, while I stayed home with Eli, and so I invited a friend over, Kelly, to keep me company, whome I cajoled into staying for dinner.
Fortunatly an extra person doesn't bother us, so Kelly didn't put us out at all, but she sat on the lounge mostly carrying a loud converation with me (who was in another room) while crochetting and looking after Eli, and her wee doggie ran a muck with Gaspode.
I am now sitting down while Michael is on the phone to the friend with the trailer, Kelly goe home and the three children I have at home all asleep. Methinks when he gets off the phone we shall watch some Star Trek DS9.
Over all, yes, I think it was a good day
