04 Mar At Home

Instead of at church!
I was all set to wear that dress and everything! But Michael sickened last night, and so today he is sleeping it off. As a result, we are all at home.
I have not been idle, though! Today is the first day without rain we've had all week, sio I did all my washing (including changing Phebes bed, as she's had an accident last night)
And I managed to get the children outside for a while (in gumboots)
AND I sorted my mushroom garden, though I feel I am too late for the poor beggars. I should have done it weeks ago, and they have been submerged inwater for most of the week.
I have my mushrooms in a small wedge of earth between the garden shed and the fence. It is about a foor and a half wide and gets sun only on a very small part of it. I had the mushrooms in their boxes down here, but the problem was I kept either forgetting them or not having the time to go tend to them, so they have been either bone dry or wet through for the duration of their lives with me,m and I am conscerned I have killed them!! But they are all on the ground now, so that the moisture intake will be more rounded out, rather than all or nothing! The first picture is of the mess I made chucking the stuff (weeds, pipes, mushroom box) out of the area I was working on. I'll have to clean it up soon, lol! The second Photo is of what the mushroom patch looked like when I was finished

Later on I need to stake my sunflowers, because the dratted wind and rain have flattened them!

The children are all only sated about not going to Sunday School because I kept some of the materials at home for them to do. The rest I left at church for Elene to use. Never mind. There is always next week :)
If the weather permits this arvo I am going to take the top off of one of the gumtrees in my veggie patch. It is taking too many nutrients from the ground for me to be able to fully utilize my patch this winter, so go it must. It looks real pretty, but as you may be able to tell, I have plenty left! Hmmm, and upon looking at this photo methinks I need to get meself out there and pick some more tomatoes!

I have to include this little clip. It gives you a really good look at how clever Eli is getting, AND how big the others are now :) please note I am still quite congested!

he is still breastfeeding strongly, and I get a lot of 'mumumum' to boot, so I rest assured he is still my baby, lol!
I have staked the sunflowers up, and they are not too much worse for wear :P

The worst there guys have had to deal with is the wind and rain, otherwise there are just the bees that literally Roll in them!

I really hope I haven't killed the mushrooms!! I also hope the cats keep their business to themselves and don't try to use it as a litter box!!
Nup, me got Michael (poor old soal) to help me with the tree, though I was the one petched with one foot on the shed roof and one on athe top of the ladder ;) We got the top off too, but it was funny, I sawed and sawed and sawed and it didn't want to come down, so we tied the tree to another and came inside for a breather. Not ten minutes later there was a crack and there was the blasted tree over the fece with the rope broke!!! Oh well, will fetch it tomorrow :)
Oh, got the sunflowers staked too ;D
Yeah, the children ran around the house with their lion masks on

the lesson text came from Jeremiah 25-28, and since the Lord is mentioned with a lion context in there, this was the craft, lol!
Michael is sluggish, even after a second nap after the tree episode, but I think he will be okay tomorrow.
Oh! And I got all my clothes dry! YAY!
