17 Jan 2011 A Good Day

I am actually really happy with today. It started with me going for a walk with Gaspode (Hadassah was asleep and Malachi wanted to play his game on account of it being a technology free day for us, but more on that later) and we walked along the water way at the foot of our street, and was gone about an hour, with Gaspode walking enthusiastically all the way.
When we got home we were just in time for brekky, and Michael put the toaster on the table so that when he and I finished our cereal we could have fruit muffins toasted without having to get up to get them, which was nice, then we lingered over coffee.
Before I went to see the lovely Jane (my physio, whom I've made a note of here) I was able to strip Michael and my bed, empty the bathroom of linen, and get it all washed and the rinse started, AND get Malachi to do eight pages of school work in two PACE's (I know I've started him early, but we are both really excited about this)(and I'm so pleased with him, because I had a concern about his unwillingness to read, but he did really well this morning) all before I had to duck out at a quarter to ten.
When I got there Jane asked about my pain (as I had had a lot of it before I saw her the first time, and she gave me some stretches to do) and I was happy to tell her that I had had no fierce pain at all this week, and the ache was down to a dullness that I could almost forget about (aparently I'm getting this pain partly because baby is all out the front, and partly because the previous c-sections coupled with no proper excersizes for this particular area have left my lower stomach muscles weak, and the smaller back muscles are trying to compensate, and the result is the overworked muscles are playing silly buggers with me. She also says that it doesn't help that I'm a very flexible person naturally, and that the muscles are trying very hard to compensate).
Jane says I am to keep up the stretch she game me (lying on my side with the upper leg over reaching the lower leg and stretching out across the bed, to stretch out the lower back muscles and remove some of the pressure that area is under when I'm upright) and the exersises are firstly to either lie or sit in 'child's pose', and the other is the 'cats pose'.
When I got home (I was not away as long this time because I did not talk as much, lol!) Michael had started the children eating their lunch, so I was able to finish the rinse and get the washing hung out, which consiquently all dried, and I'm tickled about that, too, because its been a funny day, all over cast and windy with a bit of drizzle every now and then.
Phebe went down for her nap beautifully while Malachi played his game and Hadassah watched, and Michael and I were able to eat our lunch in peace, and watch an episode of NCIS.
Afterwards Michael showed me the painting he'd done on the house, which I dutifully admired, and then he washed up and went down for a nap, and I mucked around on Minti (and discovered another awesome but apparently forgotten group that I shall utilise!) and drank a cup of coffee. Hadassah asked for one too, so I made her a (weaker) cup of coffee, and she drank it happily while she watched Malachi play.
When Michael got up he took Gaspode on another walk, and was gone not quite an hour, but he looked really good when he got back, and it is currently just after dinner (pork chops with veges and mash) and I am on Minti again while Michael washes up and feeds the animals.
We are trying something new for our weekends. On Saturdays we are having a cencered day, where we are going to be careful what we watch, listen to and read with a mind that tomorrow is church, and then on Sunday we are abstaining from technological entertainment all together, to focus more on what we learned in church, and on each other. Both Michael and I were a bit worried about how it was going to go, but  it went so well, I was blown away! I mean, there were practically no fights between the children AT ALL, and Michael has actually started to chat to me again, so I can hardly wait till next week end to see if this one past was a fluke, or if its going to be this delightful every time!
Quick update on baby. Yes, baby is sitting all out the front, yes, baby is sitting very low. My back pain is at a minimum because I now know how to manage it better. I have nausia, which is normal for late pregnancy, though I'm getting it a wee bit earlier that I should. I am feeling very heavy and stiff, but that is also normal, and I am taking vitamin D, and iron tablets, because I am very low in both, but this is also pretty normal. My face has not yet broken out in pimples, which apparently can happen because of hormones, and I am in no wise constipated, nor am I swollen. Baby is by far the most active one I have ever had, and is rarely still. I can sit for ages and just watch my belly distend, rippel and roll with baby's movements (its not this bad, but if you look at the picture here you'll have an idea of what I'm feeling!). I swear, sometimes its so bad that as soon as I notice baby has quietened down I sit and take a rest, because its very distracting otherwise, lol!
Hmmm, I could keep going but the blog is already pretty long, and I'm being summoned so I shall leave it there. Hope you've all had as good a day as I have :)
It has been nice. I am leaner this time round than I have been with any of the other pregnancies, and Michael's depresion and anxiety are not making him hard to live with like it has been with the other pregnancies also, so over all, it is indeed very nice :)
I am seeing the Doctor in the first week of next month (too lazy right now to get up and check to exact date), but I'm hoping he's going to give me my due date then! Then we can really start to roll, lol!
Mate, I am so restless at the moment its terrible!! I absolutely have to have something to keep me occupied at the moment, like the computer or a book, or else I'll sit, and then I'll get up and do something else! And its not like its easy for me to get around, let alone up and down, lol!
