26 Jul 2011 Quick Update

The date was awesome, though getting out was interesting!
First I wanted to get the washing out of the way early so I wouldn't come back to it, and all the children had a hand in hindering me, so as a result I did not get to finish hanging it on the clothes horses (but this was okay because Granny finished for me).
Second I discovered my nose running and eyes itching from the dust in the lounge quite suddenly also this morning, so I wacked out the vaccuum cleaner, which then died when I had barely gotten started (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), so I had to finish with the dust pan and brush.
Granny calls about this time to tell me the train will be ten minutes late, but I cannot tell Michael as he just drove off in the car to meet her, so am now praying he won't freeze while waiting for her!!
Then I managed to check on all the beds make sure they were made, clear the drainer of dishes and empty the scarps bin (which was overflowing) where I rediscovered how mucky the back yard was as the mud squelched between my toes (yuck!!!!)
The wee child starts to grumble as I sit down to get the childrens schoolwork ready for them (Malachi has words he needs to learn how to spell, and Hadassah had a portion of alphabet to copy), so I rush madly through my writing and try to keep it legible at the same time.
Finally sit down to feed my poor wee man as Daddy and Granny walk in the door.
*pant! pant!*
So we walk out the door ten minutes before the movie is due to start with last minute instructions to Granny on how to prepare Eli's food if he needs it, what to give the other children for lunch, what they are doing in their schoolwork, and how to work the TV and player if she needs it!!!!!
Okay! So! We find a park easy enough, and actually buy a drink and pop corn, as we do not have enough time to pop into a more reasonably priced shop to buy munchies. $35 later we are sitting in the cinema ready to watch the last Harry Potter movie! And sit, and wait, and sit and wait . . . and discover we could have gotten munchies after all!!!!
The movie was awesome, (if loud), the popcarn was great, and Michael and I walked out feeling very happy.
I mentioned to Pauline in my last blog notes we came straight home, but realized later this wasn't true, Duh! How could I forget?? We were going to the ATM to get money for lunch when we walked past a shoe shop which had the most wonderful shoes on special sale, so Michael waltzes in and buys them for me (and some slippers for himself). I am stoked! I haven't had a new pair of shoes in about three years!
So we came home for lunch, which we finally had at three o'clock, after I had a hug from each of the children, been filled in on events by Granny, and had been squeezed by my smallest person and then fed him off to sleep!
Well!
Granny said that the children were all very well behaved, and Eli only started to grumble in the last 45 minutes (considering we were away just over three hours this isn't bad!), and she had their schoolwork done just fine, lunch went well, the clothes were hung for me, and the only thing that hadn't happened was Phebe's nap, but we won't worry about a small thing likt that!!
Now I had the small Eli person again, and was trying to get Malachi organized for his very first sleep over with granny. Eli was feeling rather unhappy with the way I had left him (hehehe!) and was making up for missed time, so we packed a small bag for Malachi, plus his pillow and sleeping bag, and made sure he had his jumper, coat, scarf and beanie on the way out the door, and Daddy dropped them off at the train station.
I just had a phone call from them a short time ago stating all was well, and he is behaving himself nicely so far, so I am relaxed in that area.
Eli is now being bathed by Daddy, and the girls are quiet.
We are having an omlette for dinner, as Michael and I ate so late, and the girls don't eat too much any way, we are having a light dinner.
I am now ready for the children to go to bed so I can have a rest lol!!!
Here are some photo's of my awesome shoes:

Eli can almost sit up, and he stuck half way rolling over, but when you hold his hands he stands up and is starting to walk!!!!!
