04 Dec 2010 It is the Day after.

And boy am I tired!!
Yesterday I decided to try and do as little as possible in preparation for the fancy dress party that was taking place from 6pm. So I did not do any cleaning, or washing of clothes, or anything like that. But instead, found myself playing with the children and devoting my whole time to keeping them occupied.
This meant that Malachi was in his room playing with his car tracks, and cars, after having completed his writing and numbers.
Hadassah was playing with her dolls at her doll change station, in her room, after finishing her letters.
Phebe was also in her room, but at the other side, playing with the My Little Ponies in their castle.
This sounds very neat and simple, yes? NO! Every few seconds its 'Mu-um!', and off Mum trots to see whats up.
The day before I had the children by myself the whole day because Michael was at the church setting up, and then he went to Bible study that night, so I had to feed, bath, and put the children to bed all by my lonesome. Not hard, just different, and the children were pretty good. Got them to do 'schoolwork', and kept them occupied with the TV mostly, because it was raining buckets!
This day I woke up tired, which was annoying, but Michael still had preparations to finish, so I was content to keep the children out of his hair while he finished, but the children were all riding high with excitement about the party that evening, and quite unruly, so I was starting to get frazzled, and on top of this, I was starting to get pain too, because I was constantly up, down and round and round.
Nap time after lunch was a looked forward to moment for me, because I desperatly wanted to have a rest. Not a nap! Just a rest. But the children were so excited that they refused to settle down.and Michael announced he was going down for a nap, and I just felt like crying, but i let him go down for a nap, and took three panadole instead.
When I got Michael up at about 2.40pm, I told him he had to take all three children with him to the church while he finished off there, because I just couldn't cope. I was in pain, and I was getting extreemly irate, and I must have looked it, because he didn't argue.
So off he goes to the church with the three children, and I sit down at the computer to catch up on emails and surveys, before finally settling down on the bed with a book.
They got home at about 4.50pm, by which time I had had my shower, and topped the water up so the children could bath in it, and had made them some sayo's, incase they had to wait a while to eat once we got to the party.
Once bathed and fed, I dressed the children up while Michael sorted himself out:

And off we went.
We arrived at a quarter past six, and there were already people there, the bbq already fired up, so it was just a matter of herding the children inside, and then it was up to me to watch them while Michael watched everything else.
Now I have to be honest, I think it would have been an awesome night for me if I had felt better, but as it was I felt off, but the party itself was brilliant! The decorations were great, the food was delish, not to much of it, not too little, the music was constant and not too loud, there was enough presents in the secret Santa pile for every one, and the games were a great hit!

In the end there was only enough time to play four games, The minister's cat (two separate links!), Dry apple bobbing, Rice in spoon (a different take on water in spoon), and picture charades.
I ended up taking the girls home at 9.30, and they were in bed asleep, and I was dozing by the time Michael and Malachi got home at 10.30pm. Malachi went off to bed like a lamb, and I was asleep very soon afterwards.
This morning I woke up and my belly ACHED from all the running around I had to do after the children, and we're all pretty tired and subdued, but over all happy, so I cannot complain.
I'm going steady. It was a huge blast!! Every one was so enthusiastic on the night, and then on Sunday they gave Michael a PRESENT!!!! It is an Obi-wan Kenobi 1/7 scale model kit! We're talking big money here! How cool is that?? And so unexpected!! Michael nearly fell off his chair when they announced it!!
Michael was so happy with his outfit! He made it himself, you know! And every one was asking where he'd got it from! Malachi's was also home made, and Hadassah's was found in an opp shop, while Phebe was one that fit Hadassah last year!! Mine came from out of my wardrobe. I am fortunate that, because I am so large, my options for a realistic outfit were quite limited, and the 'virgin' Mary ended up being the easiest to do. (Mary decided to dye her hair red for an evening, lol!)
Michael reckons it is probably because they haven't spent time together as a church family doing activities like this for many years, and this is why they loved it so much! I appreciate that its a lot of work to organise a 'do' like this, I mean, doing the Sunday School every week is pretty big, and I don't do the whole lot myself, even!
It is now Sunday evening, and I am STLL tired!!
