We have a plan to go camping at Seaspray
in the next week or two, so today we pulled out our tents with the idea
in mind of erecting them, and having the children sleep out in the back
yard with Daddy overnight to see whether Malachi and Hadassah could
cope with sleeping alone in the two man tent.
Wasn't that simple was it ...
We discovered that our three roomed tent had to be mended in several places, so it is looking good now, though its being held together with fishing line and gaffer tape, lol! The two man tent, which is about ten years older, was alright, though, and we have them sort of attached to each other.

We are going to have each room have a blow up matress in them, and we are also going to cook dinner on the camp stove to see how well it works, and what I can fit on it, and how long it will take.
Okay, nup, the little gas cooker doesn't work .. never mind ... wait, it may only need a new hose ... will check this out tomorrow ..
If all goes well we will have a two or three night get away down near the beach. Yay!
The children are reall;y excited about this proposed trip, so I am hoping there are no other hicups!

We decided that if we were using the
tent whether we had power or not made little difference, because we only
have basic camp gear, and for us to make better use of a powered site
we'd have to buy gear we could use on it, LOL!! Michael is going to pack
hang man and scrabble for us to play in the evening and at nap time (if
there is a nap time!!) so we will not miss our TV time too much. I only
wish we had space to take the bikes as well, 'cause the children would
LOVE that!
I can't wait till we are actually THERE!
Right up till we arrive thewre is always the possibility Michael will
turn around and say he doesn't want to go anymore, and THAT can be very
stressful in and of itself! Right now he is being quite good, though I
can see him getting frazzled, so am trying very hard to take as much on
myself as possible so as not to let him do too much, and am hoping for
the best!
we have a better idea of how it all goes together, and who should sleep where ... we still need to test the gas camping stove, but all well we should be heading out there on Monday (have to work around the weather too! And right now its raining!).

Last night Michael slept outside in the freshly put up tents with
Malachi and Hadassah. Originally Phebe would have been out there too,
but she mucked up, so she was banished to her own bed. The reason for
this activity was to find out how the two older ones would fair out in
them so we could fix any hic ups with positioning now, and save a head
ache when we are at the actual park!
We discovered that Malachi and Hadassah can not sleep together in the
smaller and older tent as originally thought about, because Malachi
pushes Hadassah off the bed in his sleep! So he will have the tent to
himself and Hadassah will have a cubicle in the larger tent to
herself.
This is where we are at at the moment! It rained last night so we now have to wait for the tents to dry before we can pack them up!

Its holding up well! Phebe, Eli and I
are sleeping inside tonight, as there isn't a reason for us to go out,
but to see if Malachi and Hadassah will be able to pass a night in the
brown tent alone - I have my doubts as Dass insists on a night light,
but then again, she will be with Malachi, so you never know!
