21 Feb 2011 Musings

Am on iron tablets now, as well as vitamin D, but I can't say I feel an improvement, lol! And Michael says the whites of my eyes are still blue, so I shall have to ask the midwife about it on Wednesday when I see her.
Baby is still wiggling and squirming like billio, so it can't be as big as I look! I just got a notification from Huggies Mum to Be, telling me that nesting will set in and baby will settle down into my pelvis and be  more quiet . . . hmmmmm . . . well, yes, baby has moved down into my pelvis, but it did that nearly a fortnight ago. No baby hasn't started slowing down yet. nesting starts now??????? What the heck have I been experiencing then??????? LOL! Four weeks left people! Four weeks!
Granny comes home tonight, after six weeks of glorious Tasmania! Can't wait to see her and hear all about it!
Been picking apples and pears off the ground and occasionally off the trees in Granny's back yard while she's been away. The apples are Nummy, but the pears are a wee bit unripe. Never mind! Beggars can't be choosers at this stage!
When I went to the Salvo's I was given an appointment to talk about the desperate bills and sent home with three bags of food. When I arrived for the appointment I was given enough vouchers to pay for the phone bill, three MORE bags of food, advice to call Vinnies for help with the leaky fridge, and another appointment to discuss the water bill, which is a wee bit more than they can just give money out for. I am gob smacked that they have done as much as they have!! And they were SO nice about it! I was still feeling rather ashamed of being there, but they were all quietly comforting, and I scratched some self respect back, and the lady even helped me carry the food to the car!
The van will be arriving next week some time, and we are going to have to take out a Centerlink loan to cover as much of the travelling cost and mechanic cost as we can, but I fear there won't be enough left to register it with, so I'm not sure what'll happen there. Its a bit stressful that we may just be able to get it here, we'll probably be able to get it road worthy, but we won't be able to register it!!!!!! Shall have to wait and see how this'll pan out.
We had an excess of apples, pears, zucini and lettus, so we took it to church and set it out on the table with a note to tell people to take what they needed, and the table had been picked clean not ten minutes after the service was finished! It was so lovely to know we were able to help others out in this small way!
Ended up making apple and pear pies, rather than the lemon pies I had planned, because the need was greater for apple and pear pies, lol! I made a pie crust for the pies, instead of my usual short crust, and have decided I HATE making pie crusts!!!! Horrible, nasty, falling apart, fussy thing!!! Grrrr! It'd better TASTE nice is all I have to say on the matter!!
I go out to the garden to 'do some shopping' once a week, and usually bring inside a basket full of veges and herbs. Its so lovely! This time round I brought in (more) lettus, some apple cucumbers, spinach, caufiflowers (very small ones, one a meal, but they taste good!), celery, egg plants, zucini and huge squash! Its funny, but we're not short on veges, oh no! Nor fruit! Its stuff like bread and cereal and stuff like that! But I'm not going to complain! Oh no! I have no business even THINKING about complaining when every one has been so kind!
Our wee doggie is yellow at the moment. His last bath was a week ago, and you know he's around without even seeing him, lol! The nose knows! He's been going for a walk almost every morning, and I now have the almost physical pressure of his eyes on me as I first rise to consciousness in the morning!
Malachi is going great in his schoolwork. He is really getting the hang of the reading thing, and so long as I can keep him interested, he hardly needs supervision at all!
Hadassah is also showing a great enthusiasm for learning and she is currently working her way through a princess sticker book that is teac hing her her numbers, and after this I shall have to dig something out for her.
Phebe is talking so much now, and she is eager to help, but still happy to play by herself, which is good!
Michael is painting the exterior of the house with a sort of enthusiasm, but the weather has been so wacky that he hasn't been able to go out there in nearly a week, but hopefully it will clear up enough to do some more. The last thing you want is to put the expensive paint on the wall, only to have the rain wash it off!!!!
I reckon I could go on and on, but I shall leave off here, while the poor beggars who are trying to read this are still awake, lol!!

You know, this is the first pregnancy I've HAD to take those wretched pills? Fortunately I have been able to aquire some that is small and smooth enough for me to take!
I'm letting the anxiety out, yes, by talking about it, yes, but almost never seriously! I must laugh over it, because if its too serious then I can't get over it! Laughter is the best medicine! That's why you are such a treasure to me, my dear!
The resting is happening more often now. Sitting down more. Not lying down so much because there is no such thing as a comfortable position at ther moment, but I can do sitting, though when I get up I have to swing my right leg when I walk for a while because it hurts like the dickens and I can't lift it for love nor money, but this is all details! Not important at all!! Barely worth mentioning, really!!

They still taste foul, but I've got small ones, so I can swallow them pretty easy. You know, I have the greatest of dificulty swallowing tablets?? They either have to be real small, or else a capsule, or I can't get them down and have to crush them up!!
Forget the nesting she says! Iyiyiy! I shall try for you, dear, but I think it is a lost cause, lol! The good news is I'm running out of places to nest, lol! The other good news is my energy bursts are getting shorter!!
I will stay in hospital for as long as they'll have me, but the Latrobe Valley Hospital is sadly underfunded for the amount of people it needs to be available for, so unless they are having a low peek, I shall probably be shipped home on the third day, unless something goes very wrong.
