Happy Birthday Hadassah! She is now five, the same age as Malachi, who will not turn six till the 21st!
First thing this morning I discovered that Malachi had wet his bed, so I went to change and make it before brekky, only to discover that he'd wet the matress as well, so I had to put the gas heater on to dry it off, and get the washing machine going.
Straight after we'd eaten Hadassah opened her presents, and we gave the other two little party bags so there wouldn't be crying over one person getting presents. Well, we had crying, but not over the presents. It was because Hadassah didn't want to play with the other two, but wanted to play with her new toys by herself, which was fair enough, but Malachi didn't understand, and was very irate about it. I got some nice piccies anyway:
And the drama's continued throughout the day, because Hadassah's cake was a fancy one hadn't tried before (the recipe is here), and the moose icing wouldn't set, and the whole day poor Hadassah kept asking if we were having the cake yet, and she had to wait.
For dinner we decided to do something a little special for her, so we ate dinner infront of the TV and watched Shrek Forever After, (I've posted up a little about the movie here) and that went down well with the children, and after we'd finished eating we had the birthday cake!
Hadassah finished the night with her head on my belly while Daddy read. Needless to say she was soundly kicked, lol!
