12 Apr 2011 A One Handed Note

I am getting adept at doing this, feeding and typing with one hand! lol! I haven't been on for a few very full days, and now I've taken all day catching up on emails and minti and what not - pheeuh! I don't get paid enough for this!
Well folks, I have whooping cough!! I was vaccinated for it a couple of days after I had Eli, and now I have it. I have done this before - been imunised against something and then caught it! It happened with measles, mumps AND chicken pox!
Hurumph.  Not happy, firstly because I've found it so hard to breath between coughs at few times that Michael tells me my face was blue and my eyes were popping - not that I was paying attention to such mundane things - I was more interesting in a less complicated goal, ie: breathing!!
Secondly because the whole family is exposed to it, and Eli has nothing to fall back on to prevent him from catching it except what he's getting out of my breast milk, and I'm scared to death he'll get it!! Every one else has been imunised, and the worst they seem to have is a bad cough, but no whoop. We are waiting on tests to confirm this, though.
I was reflecting, upon being asked how many times Eli feeds at night, that I actually didn't know, but I can tell you how many times I woke up coughing! Figured this wasn't right, so I have kept track, and can tell you he wakes promptly every two hours for a feed. My precious little bottomless pit .
Phebe turned 3 yesterday (the 11th) and it was so cute, she exclaimes over all the presents 'ooh! For me?" In such a sweet way, and said thank you, and - oh! I could just eat her with a spoon sometimes!!!
Heavy rain last night - so glad the snakes were under the doors or we would have been flooded!!
Been keeping a heater on in our room at night to keep the air warmer, and it helps so much with the cough! Gotto keep away from milk drinks as they clog me immediatly, fizzy drinks and cold drinks in general as my throught clenches, and am sticking mostly with tea and coffee at the moment, but we survive :)
Malachi is being very gentle with me, and is always coming up for a quick hug, and a word of love. He's a perfect oooah to almost every one else, though!
Eli can hold his head up, and likes to look around and talk - he really is an amazingly calm and contented baby!
Hadassah has been so helpful, but Malachi has driven her to cattyness on several occasions, lol!
Michael is still suffering from change, but he's getting there, as are we all.

We are doing our best, and its nerve wracking to keep listening to Phebe's cough and monitor how its going - also Malachi seems to be coughing a wee bit, so I have to try and get 'em into see the good old Dr. if I can . . . On a plus note, Eli is still not coughing! Just found out Phebe has it to, and Malachi is coughing, so I just raced around the pharmacies in town to get Phebe's medication, and I'm to take Malachi in to the doctors as soon as I can get an appointment to have him tested! Good news is that Eli does not have it! WHOOP!!!!!!!
