28 Mar 2011 Hello from a New Mum of four!

Here am I, tired and content.
I've fought the battle,
I've run the race.
Now, even though I'm worn and drawn,
I arise victorious!
I need nothing more.
Its been a tough trot, and I'm not through yet! I don't know if Michael told you or not, but the surgery took an hour and a half, wen normally it takes half of that, or less! They had a lot of scar tissue to cut back, plus, because Mr Eli was so big, they had to cut through some extra muscle to get him out, and even then there were some pretty promintent marks on his head from the forcepts had hold on him to try to get him out!! Fortunatly I didn't cough during the procedure, but I have been coughing heavily ever since,  and am on some heavy pain killers to try and get some relief,  and it helps in the pain department, but not much any where else, lol.
I was in hospital four days, and they would have kept me longer on a acount of the cough, but I needed to come home as Michael wasn't  coping very well.
Okay, so no good photo's as yet, but I can tell you he was born at roughly eight and a half pounds,  was 45 cm long, and is quite blond. I am happy he is so light,  because it means he might just go red and you know how I was hoping for a red head!
He is a good feeder, and is very strong. I had both the maternal health nurse and a midwife come out to visit me, and the combined report was that Mr Eli has gained 101 grams in two days and is going very well, and that my wound is healing well under the circumstances.
Funny story! A German doctor (lovely Lady, by the way!) was trying to give Eli his new born exam, and he decided he didn't like her! He was crying and carrying on while the poor lady is trying to test and check all his bits, and every time she let him go, he'd stop crying and glower at her, LOL! She finally had to give in when she got to checking his eyes as he simply wouldn't cooperate, even when I took him, finally burying his head in my arm, much to her dismay, and the trainee doctor's delight  (who was with her)!
The other children are all quite taken with him, but Malachi loves him the best, and simply cannot wait till he moves into his room!
No proper photo's yet. I have taken a hasty one which I shall put up as my new little piccie, but it does not do him justice!
No bigger mode of transport yet, we are still trying to get the forms in order so my pay can go up so we can approach the bank again, so until this is sorted and the bank gives us more money I am kinda stranded at home 'cause we don't all fit in the car, but right now I'm not too worried about this.
Very tired, but mainly because the coughing is preventing me from getting proper sleep, but am pretty happy right now, because I have a bootiful baby boy of which my family approves, and a chance to do it all again in a few years if I still want to!
Hope all is well, and I shall try to post again soon (you know me, though! Takes a lot to keep me away!
I like the name, too (duh) except we only realized afterwards that it has the same ending sound as Malachi's, which is what we were trying to avoid with the girls, DOH!!

I am going to the doctors in a couple of minutes to see about the cough, because it has changed and I am having trouble catching my breath during the coughing, which is a little unnerving, to say the least!
Hay guess what? Eli has been waking up more since I've been cutting back on the painkillers! He's a very interactive little chap!!
I am just so tickled that the children and Michael love Eli as much as I do! You know that children can sometimes be funny towards new siblings, but this does not seem to be the case here - yay!

I actually wasn't bored at all in hospital! I had nice pink and lavander walls to look at, a window, a couple of books, my wee baby, and the backs of my eye lids to look at, lol!
I will definitly high tail it to the doctors if I am unable to cope with whats happening to me, you betcher boots lovey!
I am really not enjoying the cough, but Eli doesn't mind, and has even managed to feed through one (!!!) though I have had to put him down in the end to catch my breath and make use of several tissues.
