The house is quiet because the other two are asleep (though I shall have to wake them up soon or they won't sleep tonight
I am pretty pleased with myself because I have just finished a batch of peach jam, some lemon marmelade, that flopped, but I have marked it syrup instead of marmelade and have already made a couple of pies with it (I just added butter, an egg, and some cornflour to thicken it and hold it together, and its real righ, but tastes awesome!), and also bottled some rocket pesto which I just finished making.
I really should make a cake and some bikkies, but some how I just can't be bothered at the moment!
The peach trees are dropping fruit so I have had to buy very little fruit these last few weeks, and the tomatoes are ripening, too, so theres another thig I haven't had to buy, along with lettus, spinach, turnips and spring onions. Funny how I seem to be able to grow turnips but not carrots, eh? Also theres the afore mentioned rocket. None of us can stand the stuff, yet one rogue plant managed to seed and the darned stuff is popping up everywhere!! I am at my whits end, as I hate to waste food, but if this pesto doesn't hit the spot I shall just start weeding it out and throwing it away.
School resumes for us next week, and Hadassah's paper work is all in order, all she has to do is take the reading readiness test and she can start the PACE's! Malachi is sort of looking forward to school, but what he's really impatient for is winter! That's right! You see, the shorter nights means the stars come out sooner, and he'll be able to use his telescope! Right now I won't let him stay up late enough to use it doesn't really get dark till nine or so.
Phebe is having very few accident's now, though she still wears a nappy to bed. I am actually going to e making an appointment with an eye doctor for her as the Maternal Health Nurse had a small consern (Ack! Should have already done that! What day is it again?). I don't really feel strongly about this one way or the other. Yet.
Eli is standing by himself, and is babbling baby talk deliciously. I wuvs him sooo much!
Our Sunday School lesson this Sunday gone was for Australia day! The story was about the First Chaplain of Australia, Richard Johnson, and the memory vesre was the verse he used for his first sermon, Pslam 116:12. For the craft I wanted to do cork hats, but the staw hats and the corks cost too much, so I ended up buying these cheap sparkly hats and we tied all sorts of little things to string around the brim instead of corks! The children loved it!
Hohum, should start thinking about dinner - hmmmm, maybe tacho's?
Dassah liked the movie, Malachi got bored, Michael was quite impressed with it, so I have had various versions of it,, lol!
Yeah, the cork hat of ours is quite distinctive!
