02 Jan Ooooooh! Too HOT!

As my recent comments may have hinted at, its real hot here at the moment! At the second the thermomiter is tipping 37 degrees, and the children are all hot and bothered. Poor little Eli is stitting his chubby tooshie right in front of the air con, lol!
Pheeuuhh! I was all set to write up a blog, and now I'm too hot and bothered!
I will quickly note, Aunty Nancy and Neil the Great left New Years day, and spent last night in Eden. They are well, and much missed.
Eli is still not walking alone, but is using th walls as support, and is shaping up to be our latest walker, but who cares? He is spoilt rotten and is everyones baby!
Phebe is doing more wee's in the toilet than not now, and she has reached the fussy eating stage, but we are not giving an inch. The rule is you eat all that's on your plate!
Hadassah is my big girl, and is anxious to learn to read. This year should be an interesting one schoolwise for her.
Malachi is the big man on campus. He can read, he can write, he can do his sums, and he never ceases to rub his sisters nose in it, lol!!
Michael is steady. His sleeping patterns have improved slightly, but the heat has hit him hard, too, and he was been real slow and thick headed, so a cool change is soooo welcome!
Me? I have a feeling I am running down, but I pray for strength, as I am the only one who can pick upthe slack at the moment, till Michael is better again, and the children need their little routines and normality. I will sacrifice a lot to give it to them. I know this probably sounds melodromatic, but I am tired.
Cooler weather is coming in the next couple of days, and then everything will smooth out! Yay!

well, the children go out early, and I have them back in by ten at the latest, and we have the curtains down and attempt to keep them as still as possible, because once you heat up there is little you can do without water, and water is at a premium around here!
Most of my plants are in shade, harhar, there is method in my madness of not planting my veggie patch in full sun like your supposed to! So they wilt and look sad, but don't get burnt by the sun, unless the nights don't cool off. THEN we have problems!
Fortunatly for us, unlike Adelade over in SA, our heat waves have never lasted more than a few days in a row, a week at the most, and then a cool change comes through - though that being said even 30 feels like a cool change after over 40!!
We are currently basking in degrees over just over 20, and its lovely!
I can't stand the heat we're having, lol! And we aren't even as hot as Raven, who is erm, south of us several hundred k, I think. We have discovered that the curtaines contain the cool nicely in our lounge room (air con not strong enough to cool more than this), but coming out of this lovely cool room and into another, less cool room practically makes your head swim! Oh woe! *dramatically puts wrist to forehead and rolls eyes*
