24 May 2011 My small wee child . . .

. . . is rolling over!! He likes to sleep on his belly. I lay him on his side, because he's a wee bit spewy, and he tries to drown himself when on his back (happened twice. not laying him this way any more) and I make sure his little arm on the lower side is out, which traditionally stops much older wee babies than my small son, but no! He moves his arm and rolls either onto his front or back (funny he doesn't spew when he positions himself!), so I place a chock of some sort in his way - a rolled up towel, a baby chock, or some obstical either placed directly beside him or beneath his sheet/blanket, and guess what he does? He wiggles and squirms and moves either it out of his way, or himself out of its way! So many times I have discovered him with his feet sticking out of the cot side, or his head wedged against it because of his wiggling! I raise my hands in defeat, and have resigned myself to watching him closely! I have tried on his back, but it didn't stop him either, he actually moves around in his cot more on his back!
He is also very adept at holding his head up, and can move it from side to side now while supporting himself!
AND he likes to stand up, and do the froggy dance. I never let him hold his own weight for long if I can help it, because Of the issues that can cause, but  if I hold him over my shoulder, and have my arm or hand beneath his feet, he will push himself up and look around, happy as larry!
He likes to be included when we eat or read or watch TV, but he can sleep through the most noisy things, like Daddy doing some sort of work like drilling, sawing or sanding, or say I have a coughing fit next to the cot . . . he's amazing!

I left him in the middle of our bed with pillows on either side of him so I could duck off to the toilet, and when I came back he had twisted himself sideways and had his head under my pillow and was grumbling about it!! Methinks I'll not leave him on the bed any more .

here he is trying to crawl and pausing to smile at the camera

and this is him standing while Hadassah takes the photo

Here is my smiler!

Hehehehe! He's very entertaining! When these were done I was supposed to be eating dinner, but he was cooing and gurgling at me and I was so distracted I had to give him to Daddy so I could focus on my food!!
Impossible to ignore. He makes the most adorable noises!
