Just
opened the latest elecrticity bill, and guess what? $180 for the
quarter! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! The solar has taken off nearly $200!! Woot!
Oh yeah! I'm doing the chicken dance here!!
Strongly recomend solar power!!
Next step, solar hot water!
We currently also have grey water taps on the laundry tub (which the washing machine runs into), the bath, and the kitchen sink, and I can have that water run where ever I want. This helps me with my veges and flowers (not to mention the lawn) and my water bill is not run up.
We have gas for hot water, the heater, and the stove, but we also have a computer and a TV (or two

but before we got the solar we gave trial to turning everything (bar
the fridge) off every night, and the difference just from doing that was
a whopping $50!! Then we changed over to energy saving bulbs, which
made a smallish difference of, I think it was $10. And Our average bill
went down to just under $300. With the Solar, and taking into
consideration its winter so there is less sun, our bill was $180, so I
can't wait to see what the bill will be in summer!!!
