29 Jul 2010 Just a moment of your time.

A few days ago I was trying very hard to get ontop of my house hold chores, feeling hot and bothered, and lamenting the fact that Michael wasn't at home. (though I can't remember where he was at the second). Hadassah comes up to me and says, 'Its alright Mummy, I'll wash up for you." And so she grabs the stool, and I fill the sink with soapy water, and for the next fifteen minutes or so my darling four year old tackles the washing up, singing happily to herself.
While this is going on Malachi decides he wants to help, too, so he announces he's going to make all the beds, and proceeds to do so! Ours, his, and his sisters.
Phebe wants to get in on the action, so she starts to pick up the toys that are scattered here and there, and chuck them in her bedroom. Please note that not all were hers, but it is the though that counts!
I view these goings on for a few seconds, then scoot into the study and sit down in front of the computer, keeping a sharp ear on what's going. There was nothing for me to do suddenly! Why couldn't every morning be like this one?
After this Hadassah and I made a butter cake, jammy devils and a slab of ginger bread. And guess who was more than happy to wash up again?
Not yesterday but the day before we all went to Golden Beach to visit my family, with the exception of Daddy. Granny came instead. Daddy stayed at home to undercoat the dining hall.
We had a lovely day. While the children played (and played, and played) Mum, Granny and I gardened, and then hung, took off, and folded clothes, and later went down to the beach with the children for a time. All the while talking like magpies! Can't remember what exaclty we talked about, but it must have been interesting because we kept it going, LOL!
Got home early enough for Malachi to go to soccer. Needless to say he was a VERY tired little boy by the end of this day!!
Yesterday was child care day, and Hadassah and Phebe went to ABC (affectionatly called Dog house, of all things!!), and Malachi went to Granny's, so we had a child free house, and Michael took advantage of this by finishing the undercoating. I consentrated on getting about six loads of washing dry in front of the heater, and dusting my extreemly dusty house. No rest for the wicked!! I swear I was just as tired after this day as I was the day before!
Today I sent Michael to his Mum's bcause the paint was really mucking around with his sinus, and I vaccuumed, dusted again, and did a really good tidy. Finally my house looks like some one loves it!!
Golden Beach is really lovely this time of year. No mozzies or sand flies you see. But I like it most times because its soo quiet! My parents house is about 5 min walk from the beach, and they can hear the waves when the house is quiet at night. Mum's lament, however, is that because its so sandy she has trouble growing anything, lol!

LOL! Like the one I saw:
Made Cake

Want Cake

Ate Cake
. . . .

Jammy Devils are the easiest bikkies in the whole wide  world, and one of the most useful, too. They are:
100g butter
75g sugar
1 egg
200g plain flour
3-4 large table spoons of jam
method:
preheat oven to 180, grease baking tray.,
Using desert spoon scoop mixture onto tray, and then by wetting the spoon you can make hollows in the top of the bikkies without the mixture sticking to it.
Scoop a little more jam into the top of each bikkie.
Bake in top of over for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
This is a really good recipe for me, because I love to make my own jam, and I often have several open in the fridge if I don't watch what's going on, and I use this recipe to keep on top of the older jams!
Mix everything together in above order
The outside of the house is slowly getting harder too see, as I am slowly hiding it it the 'undergrowth', but the inside gets really, really dusty this time of year, and I totally blame the clothes!
